Generally, online therapy works in a similar way to typical therapy, the only difference is that instead of driving to an office, looking for a parking spot, and waiting in the waiting room; you will meet with me at our scheduled appointment time, in our own private online therapy room, accessed over a computer or smartphone.
First, we will connect via telephone for a 15 minute free consultation. If we are a good match we will then schedule an initial appointment.
Once the appointment is scheduled you will receive a link to complete your intake paperwork, which you can do through your smart phone, iPad or computer. All paperwork will need to be completed 48 hours before our scheduled session in order for me to save the appointment.
Once documents are signed and completed, you will receive an email or text with a link to your room. You will not need to download any apps. Just click on the link and within a minute we will be face to face in virtual world. I have had clients log on in their car, on their lunch break, in their office, etc... basically, if there’s wifi, we can have a session. Best part is, if you connect with your therapist and you have to move to another city, you can still continue therapy!!
You will want to ensure that you are connected to wifi, that you allow microphone and video access to your device through your settings.
